Hi guys i need to know which isp is capable of having a toll password in the wanganui area.

I am currently on telstra and i rung up to order it but they said it is not available in my area so i am going to be changing isps to most probably vodafone but can vodafone have a toll password?

And also if it cant what isps in nz can have toll passwords in the wanganui area?

Hi there,
They probably are all going to have the same issue if its not offered on your local exchange. Your best option is to get a VOIP provider like VFX who will be able to private that services and a whole lot more (+ cheaper tool calls in the first place most likely).

ISP doesn't mean telco - tolls are a phone function. (yes frequently they're the same)

My point is that you can nominate to have a separate tolls provider to your ISP. Subject lone ofthis thread confusede to start with.

A Telecom landline give you several ISPs to choose from and none would have to provide you with toll barring or "password" (which telecom offer)

.. that's because Slingshot are a Telco (or their parent, Callplus, are).

Not all ISPs are Telcos. That was part of my point.
You can, if you choose, separate the two.
Heck, many years ago I had a Telecom landline with Callplus as my nominated tolls provider and ADSL from yet another outfit...
