Hi,
I am trying to pair 2 routers (a bit futile, given the models) one being a Cisco 837 ADSL router and the other being the telecom supplied thomson 585v7. The reason I want to use the thomson is because of the wifi ability.
Why am I not upgrading the cisco to a wifi model? mostly because I'm reluctant to purchase any new equipment until I see something better come out in terms of supporting VDSL2.
I have everything working, in a sense, the wifi connects and uses the Cisco's dhcp pool (turned off on the thomson), but speeds over the wireless to the internet are at about 1/6th what they should be. (Speedtests plugged straight into the cisco over ethernet are 6 times higher). Latency is normal for wireless, just the speed is a bit too slow to the Internet. I haven't yet tried an internal network transfer over wireless > wired, the signal quality for wireless is "Excellent" at 54Mbps. Any ideas on rectifying this? Have I left something out on the Thomson that I need to do?
TIA
