I am on the Ihug Extreme[ly expensive] plan, having upgraded from Bliink a few months ago.

Has anyone else noticed they have been disconnected far more frequently lately?  It's really starting to piss me off.

Three times in the last two days, I have had my internet drop off for no apparent reason.  No settings have changed or anything, since I changed plans (or even since I conncected fullstop)

Usually I can cure this by a router restart, but this is a pain, and it often occurs when I am asleep or at work Yell

I have contacted Ihug regarding this, and am awaiting a [no doubt stock standard, no use] response from them, however am wondering if it's just me.

I'm in Palmerston North if that makes a difference.

I'm also in Hamilton and have noticed this occuring more recently too, maybe only 1-2 times a day but it gets pretty annoying when its consistly happening each day.

I'm on the 15gb plan, pretty happy overall with ihugs servce though.

I'm in Auckland. On an old 2048/128 plan.
Most of the time I get full speed, but during peak hours it slows down. Sometimes as low as 400kbs.
I also get cut off randomly, and the modem doesn't reconnect without a power cycle. This can happen anywhere from once a week to 3 or 4 times a day.

yeah, sounds like what I'm getting at the moment.  Islug and Telescum don't want a bar of it.  Reminds me of the Inspire.net ad here, "not our problem, your problem..."

Perhaps someone might be able to help me on this...

Where would a terminate request to be received from?

Most of my disconnects have logs that mirror this to a tee

This was at 4:40am in the morning, so nobody did this manually. I have checked.

:edit: I've got one of the D-Link 4 port Ihug standard issue DSL-504G routers.

I have noticed errors like this from time to time on routers but ive seen d-links not try and reconnect after this happens.

if you have a d-link, try a different router. I reccomend the dick smith XH1169

Im an IHUG customer, and have been for around half a year now, and havent had any issues with my connection at all. Every now and then, my router does stop responding but that usually fixes itself after i just restart it. Fairly happy with my connection...

I have been with Xtra, Orcon and iHug over the past 3 years, all connecting with the D-Link 302G modem.  I had trouble with every ISP (or so I thought) and went through 3 x 302G modems, finally I got to the end of my tether when the 3rd one stopped responding (to anything) and smashed that puppy to bits (stress relief) I then bought a Netgear Wireless ADSL Router and have had no trouble at all, I am currently with iHug and plan to stay that way.  My suggestion is this, throw away that D-Link rubbish and get a real modem. (might cost a few bob more, but it's well worth it!)

I've got a friend in Palmerston North who is also experiencing severe problems with Ihug. His connection will drop extremely regularly and is unable to reconnect without trying a sizable amount of times.

Ihug deny that there a problem, though we have tested his modem on a different connection and it works fine. We've also tried a different modem on his connection and get the same result. Its a really frustrating process because it usually takes 30 minutes just to talk to customer 'support'.

In what suburb does this friend live? I'm in Hokowhitu.

Yesterday, my connection dropped SIX times in 24 hours, this is unacceptable.
