So yes, finally we have a brand new FTTN Whisper Cabinet installed near my home, 1.1km's from our house & it's due to be migrated tomorrow.

I spoke to the Chorus Technician today about it & he was very knowledgeable & happy to talk all about it.

One thing I did find interesting, is that he mentioned when Fibre is rolled out to Residential Areas (FTTH), brand new Cabinets will need to be installed (probably next to the existing Whisper Cabinets), as he said "there are not enough ports in the Whisper Cabinets to cater for FTTH rollout".

I have included a picture, for those who have not seen inside one of these cabinets before.

Hmm, ok Geekzone won't include the picture that I uploaded to this site, using Firefox 7.0.1 & it would not allow me to cut & paste the URL (I had to manually type it in & yes it was correct).

I will try another site hosting site.......

I will post ADSL Line Stats, once the Cabinet goes live.

You look to be slightly further away from your cabinet than I am from mine (900m vs 1.1KM) I get 14.950mbps/949Kbps
so I'd be interested to see what you get

Nice, you must be excited :D. We are also due for a upgrade.

Had a Chorus tech working on the cabinet today with his laptop and it also looked liked the Isam's had been installed. Should go live in the next few days.
