Hi

I am pretty sure this sort of thing is asked all the time but i can't find anything on the search.

I am looking for a Broadband and phone option for my business, it seems as though ADSL + landline is about the same price as Naked + VOIP but VOIP gives me a lot more features that will be very helpful.

The two main options i am looking at right now are:

1. Snap Naked ADSL 60GB for $120 + GST and 2Talk Business value $35 +GST - Total = $180 (inc. GST)

2. Xnet Fusion - $133 (inc. GST) for 50GB including VOIP. Simpler to setup, and better price but it seems to only be for residential customers and i can't find any business pricing.

Also the 2Talk plan gives me 100 NZ mobile minutes which i will use for call forwarding.

I would like a simpler setup as i have never done VOIP before but i have heard 2Talk is quite easy.

I will be using an ATA as i already have my router/modem sorted. Does anyone have any suggestions for an ATA to use?

Any comments on the plans i have suggested or any new plans i should consider?

Thanks guys.

The Xnet Fusion option can also be used for small business, 2 VoIP phone lines or less, where local calls are free.

Am i right in saying Xnet's speeds are pretty decent and consistent?

Why not Vodafone easy office - 3 phone lines and free national calling on all 3 plus free calling to vodafone mobiles on the VOIP lines.

I have it installed at my shop and it's awsome - fantastic value

I tend not to use the SPA2102's any more. The quality of a WRP400 or SRP527 is noticeably much better. What kind of router do you have? How many lines do you need?

If you have a good quality router, then get a WRP400 and use as just an ATA. If your router is not the best, e.g. a Telecom freebie, or other budget wonder - then go the SRP527.

I use both 2talk and WorldxChange. Advantage of WorldxChnage is better QoS, better support, auto-provisioning of your device. Also my personal experience is better call quality / reliablity too on WorldxChange!

Flick me a PM (hit my email button) if you would like to go down the WorldxChange track as I can help get your sorted.

I didn't realise vodafone had VOIP options, thanks for letting me know.

Probably a bit more than required at present. I only need one phone line but will need more data.

Will keep an eye out to see what vodafone release in the future though.

Yes i already have a decent router so the WRP400 is probably the best option.

Yeah seen as this is my first VOIP setup i am leaning towards WorldxChange.

I will PM you shortly.

$25 to double your data (30gb) also $25 for free calling to all mobile networks - it still may not work for you but there are lots of options with it.

I too would like to see some bigger data options.

Its often a good idea to get your broadband and VoIP service from the same provider as they will have better end to end control over QoS and therefore clearer phone conversations.

Also gives you the benefit on one throat to choke when there is an issue and no chance of each provider pointing fingers at the other.

Having said that I quite happily use a Maxnet Naked DSL connection and VFX and have had no problems at all.

+1

Good for your provider to be hosting your VoIP on their own network, fewer points of failure and provider has more visibility . of the overall service.

Time to find a new industry!
