Hi all, this is my first time posting on this forum though I was getting a lot of help in the past by just reading ppl's post. So a big thank you to begin with.

In my home I have ADSL 2+ connection from Orcon though I am only getting 1.2mbps/0.8mbps from the broadband service in the real scenario. I have done diagnosis on the line itself by dropping everything else from the splitters and filters but it does not help.

Have you guys experienced that in the past? Shall I send wiring technician down and have a look? Could that be Orcon's fault?

Your problem is your attenuation levels, which limit your speeds.

As there are probably 30+ threads on here in recent months discussing this very same issue, so to save everything being repeated I'd suggest you firstly read my blog post.

Hi, 43dB downstream is getting up there but if its real then you should still get 5-6Mb/s. Things that need to be established, are you on a orcon ULL connection or on a wholesale connection. Are you on a cabinet or directly connected to an exchange the following link will help

What I am trying to establish here is if you are on a ULL connection (ie Orcon gear at telecom exchange) but in a recently cabintised area then you will suffer midspan injection issues, this was discussed in steve biddles blog recently as linked here

You not need to tell us if you're on a ULL connection or a Wholesale connection. If you're on a ULL connection you'll need to request Orcon to move you back to a Wholesale connection, which may result in a significant jump in price for you.

If you're on a Wholesale connection there is clearly a wiring issue, statistically this will be probably be in your premises somewhere. You presumably don't have a master filter, so I'd get one installed (this won't be free).
