My brother-in-law currently has a Canon MG6400 series printer which is becoming long in the tooth. It regularly errors to "No Paper" or "can not feed paper". This year I have had to keep opening it up and clean the pinch rollers. He also now has to regularly push/nudge the paper. Needless to say this is frustrating for my 82 year old.
So I am researching in the $100-$200 price range for a new multi-function printer:
Print B&W, Colour & photos
Network capable
Wireless iDevice capable
Duplex printing
Scanner
Copier
Low profile
Consumer.org.nz last review was 2017 and updated 2018 recommend HP ENVY 5530 or 5030 or 5020 and really only one Canon TS5160. All the rest of the Canons they reviewed have very poor ink economy. Also noticed that HP have ENVY 7000 photo series of printers.
Another thing I have found is that manufacturers have mostly done away with individual colour ink cartridges and now use one black and one tri-colour cartridge.
