Camden:
I went out yesterday and looked at a Viewsonic VP2770-LED 27 inch 2560 x 1440 screen. At Global PC the cost was $1199.00.
The reason for buying locally is that the screen is for business use and we want instant back up service, and no mucking around if anything goes wrong with it.
Locally it has a three year warranty as well. Sometimes paying a bit more locally gives piece of mind with back up near by.
If this was for myself at home, I would also look at buying one on line, ebay etc where instant back up and service would not be such an big issue, not to
mention the cost savings. Thanks for your comments.

Comes with Dell's next business day warranty (I emailed them and asked as they are an official partner)
+1 although I would go with the Dell UltraSharp U2713H, which is a bit more expensive.
Geektastic:Camden: Will the Apple brand screen work on a standard windows based PC ? Any compatibility problems. I know architects, designers love them but I did not think of Apple brand because of our operating system.
There's an easy answer to that....! ;-)
