Klipspringer: Heck.. This is going back in time. What are the release dates on these games? I would actually love to have a copy of simcity 2000, the original age of empires and duke nukem 3d..

Giving my age away now.

You can buy these games (excluding AOE) for a few dollars at GOG.com, they come packaged with dosbox and run on Win 7/8 with ease.

There's also heaps of classic games on abandonware sites.

Ah , remember trying to get these games to run fast enough to play on our old 386's & 486's . On a B&W monitor . :-)
'3D' vid cards changed everything .

The original Dos Monty Python game is a hoot to play as well.Doom, Wolf3d & Duke are still fun, no matter how many times I play the 1st level.

Im a Duke Nukem fan. As you can imagine I was pretty excited about the PS3 release that came out about a year or two ago.

But what a disappointment that was ...

Orchid Righteous 3D was the first card back then? I later got a Hercules 128 something I recall

Just the three Star Wars games for my collection.

I do have a box load of old Amiga floppy disks in the cupboard (and Amiga Format magazines), but have no idea what is on most of them. There are probably magazine cover disks, but some of it will be personal files, so I can't sell / give them away. There may be some original disks there too, but I haven't looked in years and don't have the Amiga 500 any more to load them into.

Yep, 3dfx were one of the better original cards (chips) . S3 & Matrox also had 3d chips at the time, that werent as good (from memory)
Even before that , Creative released the first 3D gaming card (ISA), it would only run the games it was bundled with, no one supported it. :-)
