I think the worst part of the site is it seems oddly anonymous and a little creepy because of that.
Who are they - what do they do - why are they gathering that info.....

Time for the tinfoil hats!

KiwiNZ: Yellow may have sold the info

If that is the case, I'll be making even more noise.

I don't bother to list in the directories. I give my number to those I want to contact me.

You would have to check the T&C's you agree to when listing in the directory as to if they have done anything wrong.

I don't recall giving express permission for my information to be sold offshore, and would expect them to furnish evidence that I agreed to this somewhere along the line.  If this does existing in their T&C's, that doesn't mean they won't back down if they receive bad press about it.

In their T&C's .....

"You irrevocably and unconditionally grant us an exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable, sub-licensable and irrevocable licence to use such content in any way as we see fit, including without limitation the right to use, copy, modify and publish such content (whether in whole or in part) in any format or medium currently known or developed in the future, and you waive all moral rights in such content"

That is why I would never list with them.

Dynamic: If you change the _ to a / beside the number in the URL, the web site accepts it and you get a confirmation email advising the request will be actioned within 24 hours.  Whether it happens remains to be seen.

Did it work?

90% worked, yes.

I'm still in the search results (name displayed), but when you click for more information you get a blank page.

Have not got anywhere...  the CDN say the content is not theirs (as MF pointed out), the German ISP has not responded, and nor has the Yellow Pages Group.

Hi

I am not listed by Yellow or White pages and to my knowledge, never have been. The phone number they have here for me is very dated.

I see the only contact is through Privacy Protect here:

http://privacyprotect.org/

Good luck.

Uh, Jebus. White pages has me listed, somehow although I ALWAYS specify not to be listed, so the FU must be through a service provider somewhere down the line....

Oh well, I'm easy enough to find anyhow.

I tried to get WXC to unlist me 3 years in a row and they cocked it up so went to 2talk and wham, done. Although we will see when the next White Pages comes out :)

A few searches for my name, which has a very unique spelling, shows that there are a few sites like this and they all appear to be some kind of click bait loaded site ('click to remove' then loads all kinds of other scripts/pages/FB likes etc.). They also all have the same incorrect details for me, so it does give me the impression this is from Yellow/Whitepages.

I'd not bother, as pointed out previously, complaining will only give away your email address and Facebook/Google already have all that detail and are already selling it to everybody.... ... the milk is spilt.
