Behodar: I think that this may be a core WebKit issue as I've been seeing the same behaviour in Safari recently (within the past month or two - since version 9, I think).

Could be. But also Windows Chrome does not use WebKit.

Edit: Also I think you will find this behaviour is by design.

I get the same problem in Opera. I think Opera is using Chrome's render engine these days?

I have this issue with one forum I visit - load multiple tabs and it only loads the page when you look at it
I blame the crappy forum as it happens in both Chrome and Edge.
