As long as the Windows 7 is activated the Windows 10 upgrade will activate. I've done about 6 computers this year.

Your motherboard will take:

For normal use 4GB (2x2GB ~$80 for two) or 8GB (2x4GB ~$114 for two) will be fine.

I just looked at you photo inside the case and noticed that the one RAM on the right, in photo, is not pressed all the way down as the white clip is still out a little.

I'm guessing that you actually have 4GB (2x2GB) of RAM.

Edit

Nope there is actually only a single stick of ram in the computer all the other slots are empty

Whoops didn't notice these replies, i do really appreciate the help guys

I have updated it to Windows 10, went through fine using a thumb drive, told it not to keep anything (apps or files) when it did the install, but bizarrely when i started using windows 10, Chrome was there

I also replace the graphics card with a worse one I had to bodge an elderly ati card into the full size bracket as i was terrified the old card with its non-working fine might self-combuste, Bit dumb when you think its probably been sitting running 24/7 full of dust with a non working fan in a warm server room for a number of years.

But anyway
