OK, i just scored a computer (Previously used for running aCCTV system) that was getting dumped it works fine but still has all the surveillance software on it.

Bit dusty though

The COA is still on the side of the case can I just download windows 7 from somewhere and reinstall the OS, or is any chance of doing the windows 10 upgrade

Specs are below, unfortunately i only had an apple keyboard so couldn't work out how to do a screenshot

The fan on the graphics card doesn't seem to spin, its like trying to spin a bicycle crank using just your finger, so i may replace that, and the ram does seem pretty minimal

The weird thing is when i am in windows it only shows 2 harddrives, whereas speccy the screenshot above shows 3

Give it a good blow out,

Realistically you need to find more RAM for it.

The reason you will be seeing three drive is one drive will be a SSHD, it has a 32GB SSD partition and the rest is spinning. The OS sorts it out you dont have to do anything.

The free upgrade to windows 10 has ended ( however if you can find a 1709 ISO it will still activate ) then you can do a fresh install of 1809

Even if you can't get W10 activated you will only have a fairly discreet & un-annoying W10 nag about activation.   There are a few youtubes about this.

Are you sure? Looks like 2 x 3TB WD Green's to me, and a small Corsair SSD.

While this is an Core i7, it also is a Lynnfield 45nm from 2009.

Good luck

Pretty sure that it's a SSD: https://www.corsair.com/eu/en/Categories/Products/Storage/SATA-SSDs/Force-Series%E2%84%A2-F40-Solid-State-Hard-Drive/p/CSSD-F40GB2

Then he has 2 hard drive's in RAID: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136874

Sorry I misread the article, it say MS is going to send out popups to upgrade to Win 10 as support is ending for Win 7, (Doesn't say if free or not) but lots of sites are saying it is still possible to upgrade still.  I can't confirm this as have not done Win 7 upgrade for a while.

Ah right, yeah, weve had a few machines that have let us install Win10 lately. I have a personal clients's machine I want to put onto 10, so will be trying it soon.

True upgrade from Win7 (ie in place upgrade that keeps programs , settings etc)
or Wipe & clean install of Win10 using Win7 key : Last one of these I did was Jan this year

MS arnt being up front & 100% clear about free upgrades from 7 to 10. Its a murky area .
They let them go through (clean install) , but say this

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windowsforbusiness/end-of-windows-7-support
"Can I get a free upgrade to Windows10"|
"Microsoft 365 Business comes with a free upgrade for users with a Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 Pro license on their device. By purchasing Microsoft 365 Business your users can upgrade all of their old Windows Pro licensed devices at no additional cost.  "

Note MS never said no free upgrade from 7 , instead they say buy our 365 product .

theres a difference between activation and having a license.  The free Win10 upgrade period is long over.

the website quoted, is specifically for the Microsoft 365 Business license, so is irrelevant to the free Win10 upgrade offer
