Suggest 16GB RAM is plenty, and you can add a graphics card later so see if the graphics built into the CPU is good enough to start with.

He has to get a GPU, there isn't one built into the 3600 or 3600X. It is only the xxxxG CPU's that have graphics.

Rx 570 can go as lower as under $199. It’s been out for a while and not really a stand-out performer for much other than 1080p/60.

Ram quantity is really up to you, you got the speed spec right so no problem there.

For a 3600, the stock cooler can(?) suffice. It might drive you up the wall with noise however. If you end up keeping a cooler, then a dark rock 4/pro or any 200W+ cooler is a solid choice for whenever you decide to upgrade that 3600 to a 3700/3900 or 4xxx series equivalent.

A side note the x moniker does increase the chances of getting a better binned cpu, best example being 3700x vs 3800x (similar to 3600 vs 3600x). 3700x often boost up to 4-4.15 whereas 3800x commonly boost up to 4.35. Take it as you will though since last christmas sales the two often are pricedvery closely.

Psu is alright, if you dont plan on getting a 250W gpu then you can go as low as a 450-550W PSU. I’ve always been partial to Corsair RM series or evga G2/3 series PSU but if the reviews match up on that CM then its fine.

Btw freesync works on nvidia gpus too, they have a compatibility list on which monitors are tested so dont let that stop you from pick a green card if you see an opportunity.

Honestly what you have is pretty good,

The only things id look to change are the case and cooling, Ryzen systems are very sensitive to temperature and having a good airflow case combined with a decent cpu cooler makes a big difference to how the CPU boosts and performs for long periods.

Find a good airflow case and some decent case fans. If that means moving away from matx then do so.

Everything else looks like a great new system.
