Damn - Just black screened and restarted twice in a row. So much for the precision boost overdrive theory.

Sent an RMA request for this board I've tried everything and it's till failing to post and black screening.

I asked pbtech to update the bios on a motherboard before I bought it (because my cpu was not supported by older bios versions) -- they refused to do it. 

 

goes to show how different the standards are across their stores..  this was a couple of years back but my little cousin bought a cpu+mobo from pbtech henderson took it home and it wouldn't work.. took it back and they said its due to the bios version and they updated it for him.. free of charge. 

bios updates seem so easy these days, my asus mobo connects to the internet and downloads / updates itself via the bios menu
