Dial111: Try removing the cmos battery to reset the mobo. Also, I know you've tried but this sounds like a faulty PSU, have you got yet another you could try.

Next time it doesn't boot unplug all PSU cables except for 24 pin and mains then try jump starting the PSU with a paper clip.

So you mean unplug from vidcard and ssd so only motherboard is connected?
Already tried a spare psu and didn't work either so having a hard time thinking it must be psu. New component draw less power.
It could be MB 24pin bracket contacts are bad though but do not have stuff to check. Already contacted a pc repair shop to look at it coming monday

in that pic it doesn't look like you have the full 8 pin cpu power plugged in

Jump starting the PSU is a simple way to see if the PSU is booting, all you want to see is the PSU turning on and the fan on the PSU is spinning.

Disconnecting the PSU cables first then jumping the 24pin header shouldn't take no more then 5 min.

I can't see how you've bricked another mobo, maybe try uninstalling drivers one by one.

Pc worked with both 4pin and 8pin connected.
It only fails to boot after a while.
5600X doesn't need 8 pin.

Ok strange things are happening.

I tried to q-flash+ with the F12 bios. First try no luck. MB was pretty warm dont know why.

Second attempt at q-flash+ didnt work either.

Then i tried to power-up the pc (case powerbutton) again. I could hear the sys-fan speeding up (which always means fail at booting) but at the same time i touched the powerbutton again and suddenly the MB leds came alive.

Pc was booting in bios. There i saw that DDR4_A1 had the 8gb stick in but DDR4_B1 didnt read the other mem-stick. Mem failure?

So swapped the mem-stick to see if it was either 1 of the mem-sticks or the DDR_B1 slot.

Turns out both the ddr4 sticks work! System is reporting 16gig.

And now the pc is correctly booting a few times into windows.

Still haven't figured out what the problem is.

Anyway will try some games (elite) and lets see how many times the pc will work.

The trouble with my build is that the corsair pro vengeance argb ram is so high that no cpu cooler can get over the sticks. The standard amd wreath stealth cooler is pushing a bit against 1 ram stick....

Best thing for me is custom watercooling which i probably will switch to in the future

Well i like my argb ram. 1 stick reads cpu temp and the other reads gpu temp..

Huh? Ram that reads temps.. are you sure it's not the corsair icue software?

Well ofcourse i set the temp reading in ique software. RGB fusion 2.0 is unable to do that only to change random colours.

Pc still works!

This morning the pc failed to boot again!

No MB leds active. Fans are spinning and sys-fan is spinning at maximum. Thats it.

So after 5, 6 times rebooting the systems fails to boot.

I know if i try to flash again with q-flash+ i will get it running again but after a few times shutting the pc down and restarting it will fail again. Thats the obvious pattern i see.

During checking the pc when it was working the behaviour of the system fan was very erratic: spinning faster, then slower, then faster, very weird.

This monday i will let a pc repair shop look at it.

Couldn't help myself and tried 1 more q-flash+ before taking it to the repair shop...

Flash worked (pulled the psu power cable from the case first).

Right now i've already restarted the pc 10+ times and what i notice is that the MB leds are active a bit quicker after power-on then previous times. It looks more responsive?

And i'm not letting the pc go to sleepmode because i have a feeling that reboot failed after sleepmode was active....5600X won't go in a low power state in windows because it won't go below 3,9ghz...

So now its working fine..

Brought it to a pc repair shop. Lets see what they can find out.
