@batman to make you feel better, last week I lost internet entirely. So no homephone or suresignal or cellphone reception.

Rebooted the router but that made no difference.

I left the house for a few hours thinking it would be sorted by the time I got home but it wasnt.

Cue the 100m slog up the hill to get cell reception to call support.

As I was talking to the nice man on the phone I realised I never checked the ONT.

Back down the hill, in the house, I find the ONT power plug on the floor instead of plugged into the UPS.

Seems the robot vac got a bit busy there earlier!

Gave me a laugh! Before we start our very clever vac we have to block a few places off where there are cables on the floor. Perhaps we need to do a better cable management job🙂

Batman:

ok will try that

@Batman Why would you not try this first? basic 101

It might fix it but it still leaves the itch as to what and why it happened.

I lost internet late one night a few weeks ago, restarted router no change, found ONT also no internet light restart no change. No advertised outage but all going next morning. The sort of thing you are conditioned to accept from your telco connection that would worry you if it happened to your car.

losing internet is very different from 99% pages loading fine, and one or two pages loading 99% with one or two buttons not working which was what happened with my router .... router is no longer employed

Indeed. I was simply meaning it's easy to overlook the obvious, and to forget the basics, whatever the situation.
