Totally agree. My last couple of computers - Desktop & Laptop - were HP machines purchased from PB Tech.

And I'm about to buy a new windows desktop machine. It'll be a newish i7 or i9 generation chip with 24+ GB RAM and a 256+ GB SSD drive. I've re-use my existing monitors, keyboard, mouse, etc unless see a package that includes them for a reasonable price.

I wouldn't wait. Real world inter-generation performance barely changes between generations of processors these days. Theoretical peak performance in benchmarks, sure, but that doesn't help normal people much.
