Hello. I have an AMD K15 / AMD A6-9220e RADEON R4, 5 COMPUTE CORES 2C+3G Pc. Win10

This has 2 threads in the CPU (Which I've turned on - both threads). 2395.1 MHz core speed (each)

I'm in Auckland (level 3), and wondering about getting a new PC. I've seen online several with QUAD 4 CPUS.

QUERY: are these just 1 CPU chip - but 4 of them in one chip ?

Are there any PC's with 2 x quad chips ? or do most Pcs just have 1 x quad chip?

There's only one game I play & its not graphic intensive. so i'm not after a really fast PC. just faster than what ive got already.

However i do have multiple screens up at one time..

I'm after

- a place/shop that delivers AND Installs (auckland level 3 - distancing)
- A PC that can watch you tube etc without waiting a minute to load up.
- an out-of-the box PC - No taking apart & adding more CPUs/& other things etc to make it faster etc...

I've got a disability so don't want to open up the PC etc - an out-of-the box option is needed.

Can anyone recommend a PC / shop ?

Any modern PC will do what you need :) Intel i5 10th / 11th generation with built in graphics or AMD Ryzen with a basic graphics card, 16GB RAM, and a 256GB SSD will probably be sufficient.

I suggest you go with Dell or HP who will deliver and can also do on-site support, but I'm not sure about doing the set-up - they probably can / will. For example, Dell Optiplex 3080 tower. Look at the bottom of the screen and you'll find the support options.

Otherwise PBTech sell a range of machines, and being local probably have people who can deliver, set up, and do on-site support. They built my current machine, but I didn't pay for on-site support. When something wasn't right I took it back and they fixed it.

ive checked my Facebook & contacted PBtech in April - they dont deliver/install

Maybe you'll need to use two different vendors. Dell or similar who will provide the machine and on-site support, and an organisation like Geeks on Wheels to install and do basic support.

Your current system is a fairly low end system, but it may not be the CPU that's actually the issue. When you say a minute to load, do you mean a minute from turning it on to when you can watch YouTube, or a minute from clicking play on a YouTube video before it plays? Long boot times could mean you have an HDD rather than an SSD (very possible in a low end system that age). Slow to load in browser sounds more like a network issue, etc.

For many years now virtually all (PC) CPU's are multi-core, which in layman's terms means yes, multiple CPU's in a single chip with some shared bits to talk to the rest of the PC. Just to confuse the issue, you can get multi-socket systems (e.g. 2 or sometimes 4 physical chips, each of which will have multi CPU's on the one chip), but these are very much outside the realm of normal consumer PC's.

The only place I can think of that does things like onsite installs is Noel Leeming, but they will charge you a hefty sum, may not be doing that during lockdown, and I'm not sure I'd ever recommend buying a PC from them.

yep its low CPU & HDD - both. when i boot-up, it takes 2-3 mins till i can enter my password and 3-4 minutes till its all loaded & ready for me to do something.

if i load up a youtube (after my browser is up), it takes a few minutes till i even see the paly button & sometimes stops-restarts while the next bit is loading. though thats just an example, as i do not use youtube much.

ive got fast internet - 80+ Mbps fibre and thats WHILE watching netflix on my TV (using fibre).

i'll check Noel leeming

I can recommend not going to Noel Leeming, they are only going to sell you what makes them the most margin at the time and have no care in selling you a good experience.

Most of the onsite geeks on wheels shops will do better.

Where about's in Auckland are you based? What sort of budget do you have to spend? I know people in the industry who may be able to help but it depends on where you are based.

Ive got an in-built PC/monitor & a 2nd monitor - connected with some kind of wire/fibre thing..

Im in central nth shore - auckland.

This makes things easier. An all-in-one is a really good idea.

A couple of years back all the AIO came with ancient CPUs.

Now Dell and most brands are using current generation latest CPU and decent sized screens are available without breaking the bank.

Are you able to have things delivered to your place? If that's the case you can order from anywhere and have GOW come later and do the setup. If not, you can probably have it delivered to GOW or elsewhere.

I'm not familiar with GOW but maybe they do supply on request. You'd need to talk to them.

This is a very unhelpful post.

First, the OP mostly plays one game but you haven’t taken into consideration if this game works with a Mac. Second, you’ve failed to give any reasons why you think a Mac is best apart from “serious”.

Cos it sounds like he's asking for the best /fastest experience. Best /fastest desktop experience today is a macbook 16 imo. Yes I don't know if it works with his game. Don't know if he can afford one.

So , just buy from PB Tech . They can build whatever you want or sell you a name brand (eg HP)
Just get a Ryzen5 or i5 , With an SSD Hard Drive and that will have plenty of speed for everyday use .
For gaming, add a Gaming video card , its all about the $ you are willing to spend .

All in Ones are OK untill the warranty expires , then they can be expensive to repair if hardware has issues. Think of them as an oversized laptop .

Any PC support guy will be able to set it up for you .
