roderickh:

Having used a 1000R G5 monitor, my eyes definitely prefer the 1800R. My previous monitor was a 34UC99 which was 1800R, the 34GN850 is 1900R I think, its basically same - I do not notice any difference.

Another thing for consideration is are you planning to pair it with another monitor, and how would that curvature affect it?

My setup at the mo is a 22 flat vertical + 34 UW 1900R, independent monitor arms means that the Flat vertical monitor can be placed to continue the 'arc'.

Well, I was planning on combining the UW with a 24 vertical (in portrait) off to the side.

I'm guessing an 1800R would make it slightly easier to continue the "arc" than a 1500R.

An 1000R is out of the question.

Well, I went for the Xiaomi 34" ultra-wide.

And after a week, very happy, work wise.

The only real slight disappointment is I upgraded my video card a month or so back to a RX6600, and on my old 24" (75hz refresh) I was getting 130-140 fps on World of Tanks for example, on Ultra settings.

Now I'm getting 90-100fps on Maximum setting - which, don't get me wrong, is still pretty good, especially since I'm actually getting 100fps on the new ultrawide.

World of Warships seems to struggle for some reason - again, 110+ with my old monitor, but only 60-70 on the ultrawide.

But, as I said to the accountant/wife, I bought the screen for work, not play (pffft!) so I can't really complain.

And it looks impressive as hell regardless.

It's more pixels so framerate would be expected to drop
