I use Zoho Mail and have been pleased with the solution
Another happy Zoho customer here.
What do you guys use? Paid or free plan? Free plan looks pretty good if you don't need IMAP/SMTP access.

I am on the mail lite package (NZD $2/user/month) with 10GB mail box. I started on this 24mths ago to get the IMAP access on desktop and IOS device.
Just recently I have started using their IOS app which is great and have also found a windows Desktop App in the last few weeks which I am playing with - so far this looks palatable too.
Thus, based on the results of trialling their apps - could not see why you not go with their free offering initially. Something that I will consider at some point.
If mailbox size is an issue, you can also use MailStore for archiving email which has a delete from mailbox feature to help manage size.

Thanks guys, it looks like Zoho have a referral system in place with free credit on sign up. Would you happen to have a referral I can use? Am I able to ask for that here? Willing to give it a go for a few months to see if it works out. I'm with MXroute at the moment but not too keen how opinionated the owner can be sometimes.
tchart: From memory (it’s been 7 years) there was something on the free plan that meant I went with the paid one.
I’m on the standard plan here

These days the free plans don't allow access via IMAP or POP3, so web, or Zoho's own apps.
The paid plans also allows access via Activesync if using Outlook to access email/Calendar/Contacts is a requirement.
Yoban: Was not aware of referral program
Here try this https://go.zoho.com/l4H
Cheers, will give that a go later today.
Hi
I have been using Hosting Matters https://hostmatters.com/ for the last 15 years. Ranging uses from full on business site to what I am using it for now which is multiple email and domain name hosting/management.
I currently pay US$9 per month for unlimited emails and domain hosting. Have in the past run multiple web sites including on-line booking and sales activities.
Their support has been absolutely fantastic over the years and cannot fault them.
The real beauty of this business is that it is really easy to upgrade and expand services as you need.
Interface is Cpanel which is very easy to use, or you can ask support to sort out changes / adds as necessary
If you would like any more info - please let me know.
Disclaimer - I am not anyway connected to hostmatters.com other than as a long term customer
Regards

FWIW I use the Zoho Mail web app but install it as a PWA. The Windows/Mac app is just a proton wrap of the web client anyway (and it was always buggy for me when updating - it would say an update is available and then fail to update).
I use the Zoho Mail app on my phone which isnt terrible. Notifications for calendar events could be better but thats my only gripe.
sfrasernz: Thanks for the suggestions.
Could I also ask for recommendations on domain name registration?
domain.co.nz is my vote, one of the cheapest around and if you drop them an email they configure everything for you

Paid plan. It's really a minimal cost at US$25 a year

Agreed. It just does what it says on the tin.

Another happy Zoho customer here.Me too. I've used them for years.
Having free aliases is particularly useful and the reason I stuck with them over office365
Opinions are my own and not the views of my employer.

Aliases and shared mailboxes are free on 365.
They weren't, or lacked functionality, when I was making the decision between the two some years ago. Things change of course.
