another price increase... sure why not have an $800 price jump for a 3090 lol 🤡
i've also noticed ram prices up a hundred bucks in many cases... even while always in stock?
Wow, and we used to think the scalpers were bad!

I'm confused who the scalpers are now?
Surely Nivida isn't charging more for their GPU? and its just the "middle men" who are lining their pockets?
Yes I understand the economics. But is this beyond people being rational now, and a "free" market?
So much media saying "better buy now, it's only going to get worse". Supply issues are continuing, better buy a card now, before they get more scarce...
CPU: AMD 5900x | RAM: GSKILL Trident Z Neo RGB F4-3600C16D-32GTZNC-32-GB | MB: Asus X570-E | GFX: EVGA FTW3 Ultra RTX 3080Ti| Monitor: LG 27GL850-B 2560x1440

Dial111: If the 3080ti does exist that card is gonna cost a fair bit
GN has a photo of them from an MSI shipment, so next month's release looks accurate. USD999 for the 3080 Ti although that would be nVidia's fanciful MSRP. $3,700 in our stores average would be my guess.

Yep saw that photo, I'm picking retail here will be $3000-$3300 for the 10 units NZ gets.

That can't be right, you can buy a 3090 for that money. Holy **** prices have gone up since last November.
Wow.. I only look at PC parts when its time to upgrade, really due for one but what are these prices
Mightyape got 3070s for 1800, 3080s for 2800
I'm considering getting a 3080 but I just feel dirty even thinking about paying that price
Yeh its a bummer.
And no one knows if when they turn off ETH mining if these things will flood the market OR they will move on to other coins.
The shortage is a big issue, I ordered my RTX3080 on release day and only paid $1549 from PB tech (one of the first batches). I have had offers of about $2400. But not really worth selling it and I would be in a strange boat having to replace it.
I think they are hobbling the mining in the hardware on the next batch of GPUs. The current ones will keep working. How effective it will be remains to be seen as the community may find work arounds to keep the hash rates up.
Gave in and went for a 3090 installed about 2 weeks ago. Was hoping for a 3080ti but given the pricing currently for the 3080 plus how much longer it has taken for the water cooling options to arrive and with my 1070 struggling with the tasks I was throwing at it. If not for the shortage would likely have not have even considered getting a 3090.
Happy with the performance but not something I would recommend unless its job critical(which in this case is)

Yes I know it would be better if the rad was the other way around but could not fit all my HDD's in the case with the piping below the rad. So far I've not had any issues with noise or thermals(idles at 4c above ambient and like 30-35c above ambient when its at >90% usage and it drops back quickly when going back to idle).

I've heard its the AIB partners who are marking up the prices so much. (Asus, Gigabyte, Powercolour, MSI, Sapphire etc).
Their line of thinking is the fancy coolers make the product worth an extra $1,000.
AMD is selling their cards directly for MSRP (in the US & UK you can order from AMD.com) so it doesn't seem it's them doing the mark-up.
I got an email from nVidia today - the RTX A4000 card is now available for purchase. I've seen it online for US$ 1,250... that would probably be NZ$2,400 inc markup and GST. That's in RTX 3070 price territory so pretty awesome. I imagine OEMs will have it available in workstations soon with cards from PNY and Leadtek to follow.
Still I really didn't want one of those awful blower coolers for my new build, so have settled on a 3060 12GB & will see if the market is less insane end of 2022 with the 4000 series.
the 3060 has increased in price by $300 to $1200 and now 1660 supers are selling for $1000 🤡

1660S is 700 from PB Tech if you're happy to wait 2 months for the next batch lol. Not sure why anyone would even pay that for such a garbage card when there are GTX 1070s on trademe for less.

the cheap evga cards you see are originally from a russian miner's garage on the north shore. they're cheap because they were kept in a garage with high humidity and have begun to rust.
