hio77: move to chrome, i did and never have looked back.

dont think i can recall a single crash since moving.

inb4 comments on chrome privacy.

While I generally like Chrome there's one thing I simply can't stand: saving images.  I think Chrome is the only browser that uses its download feature for saving images.  I right-click an image, click "Save image as..." and for some reason Chrome adds the image to its download list.  Every other browser I've ever used simple saves the image and that's it, but with Chrome it gets added to the download list and then I have to click "Show all downloads" and then "Clear all" to remove it otherwise it'll stay there forever.

As a web developer I use pretty much all the browsers extensively daily and rarely ever see any crashes, maybe it's an underlying issue with your hardware or the types of sites you use?

usage patterns ild say.

while i dont do too much web development anymore, when i was peaking with it, was when i moved to chrome.

i found with my usage patterns, for my primary browser, to be very crashy with firefox but not with chrome.

ironically, looking at my firefox install right now, it has a bunch of rubbish addons crawled into it, while chrome hasnt had anything.

Rubbish add-ons come bundled with free software packages you install as an optional extra.  Often Chrome is one of those rubbish optional packages, haha :D

I like to use Internet Explorer just to get on other peoples nerves.

it has improved a lot over the years to the point of being just as good as any other browser, despite still being the target of many jokes.

Our LOB app is designed for Firefox, but is running dog-slow on my machine.  We're talking 15-20 seconds for the results of the click where normally it is 2-3 seconds.  Have reset FF multiple times, uninstalled, stripped from registry, reinstalled, no change.  Firefox Portable is no better  Brasses me off as I would rather not rebuild or strart a new profile.  I use Chrome for everything else.

Well that certainly takes care of the Firefox question....................

Couple of comments
I use firefox due to Yoono the version for Chrome is nowhere as good. I just got use to it.

I have chrome when Firefox has hung etc I change to chrome for browsing never seems to crash

Remeber I am a consumer not a tec head so I take the arrogant approach of "why does it just not work?" I forget that it is free and a incredibly sophisticated piece of gear.

Thank you one and all for the contributions
