It is open source and you can contribute by creating trouble reports. Skip to the end for that part, or carefully follow all directions:

http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-crashes-troubleshoot-prevent-and-get-help

It is just as worthwhile for the community as a code contribution.

So you've never seen this?  (Good thing though is that Chrome runs each browsing tab as a separate process - so when it "goes down" it usually take out only that tab)

Like Firefox due to being able to run the Noscript addon. Also have Greasemonkey with the photoview script. To make browsing Trademe much easier.

Cant remember the last time firefox crashed. Despite always having about 80 tabs open. Although every time it starts it says that it is having trouble loading the tabs, and shows me a box where I can untick tabs that I don't want it to try loading. I then tell it to load every single one and they always all load first time.

Also try telling firefox to start with a fresh profile. Just in case you have a buggy toolbar, addon, corrupt profile ect. Only this will cause you to lose your bookmarks, cookies, maybe saved passwords. As even if you upgrade versions the profile is still carried over. Firefox will be back to how it would be if you have installed it for the very first time. Can't remember how to do it myself but google should have the answer.

..... .. ...

Chrome.

Step 1: Use Safari or internet explorer to download Chrome
Step 2: Install Chrome
Step 3: Make Chrome default.

I still use the current Firefox on my old single core P4's.

I tried Chrome but when Google Update fires up in the background it hogs 100% CPU for a good handful of minutes.

I have the odd flash crash, but not normally.
