Have used a few ended up using Enpass

Enpass lets you save your encrypted password file on your own machine / cloud storage platform (dropbox, google, onedrive etc). I store mine on a free dropbox account that is only used for the encrypted enpass file, this is secured by a long random password and with 2fa. Each of the clients (windows, phone) then sync this file every minute or so. Any new / updated passwords are sync every minute or so between the devices. Don't need internet access to get passwords, only for syncing between devices etc.

You make that sound like a very good ease of use system.

I dont store anything to the cloud, Im too paranoid about security and have never liked cloud services, even though I help design systems which use cloud services. Ugggh.

Has been a very popular thread, thank you every body for making things simplified. I feel more confident in how to handle my security issues now.

I’d be interested in one that works smoothly for iPhone and iPad. After doing some research some of the user forums were having problems on iPads with LastPass for example. I don’t mind paying a one off cost but don’t want a monthly subscription. It’s going to be a major job to set up and change so it would be good to know of one that will work with my devices before I go through the hassle.

Dashlane integrates into the password management feature of iphone ipad, so it even works in a majority of apps

I believe their free plan can have up to 50 passwords, however anymore and you're going to have to move up to a premium sub

There's heaps of promo codes online you can find though, the one I used got me a 5 years sub for $150 so @ $30 a year it was well worth it for me

Thanks for the list. I was hoping that other IOS users could confirm which ones work smoothly for them.

I had narrowed the choice down to LastPass but then reading their community forum showed many people having problems with IOS devices, so was put off.

I would have thought it would be bad practice to store 2FA and passwords in the same app.
Wouldn't that somewhat remove the 2nd factor?

Not much now that the iCloud keychain is coming to Chrome on non-Mac devices - although I am not sure about features like Emergency Access, Family Sharing, etc...

I personally use a different app for 2FA codes. If you put your 2FA codes in your password manager you still need to get past another 2FA from a different app to access the Password/2FA manager.

One tip i would give when using a password manager is turn off any autocomplete feature your browser has. So the browser and password manager don't get in a fight about who is filling out the credentials.
