Well the pc-repair shop could'nt fix the pc but they said its probably the MB. They also failed to get the pc to boot even with q-flash+

So i pulled out the MB and tried to use Q-flash+ again outside of the pc case......

The PC boots into bios!!!! (bios F12). (Thats with old psu and graphics card)

So is there a problem with the pc case then????

I then tried the components again inside the case....No boot! MB leds are off.

Tried to swap a psu, no boot, no leds, but then i pushed a bit against the pci-riser cable and the MB leds went active....huh?

So this could be a pci-riser cable issue?

Then swapped back to the psu inside the case and after maybe 15 seconds the pc booted (took a bit longer then usual) but now got a windows 10 error message: Looks like windows is not correctly booted....

(In the bios a changed to pci-gen 3 just to be sure).

Now i restarted and have succesfully booted in windows....I really dont get it...

Just out of curiosity when the system is in the off state is there a light glow on the power LED? or HDD LED?

And also try unplugging the HDMI or DP cable from the GPU and then see if you can boot the machine.

I had a similar issue with an MSI board after 2 days I took it back, now have an x570 from gigabyte and the only issue I have now is it won't boot when the DP cable is plugged in.

Well the leds were off in the bios. Just checked the bios and set the leds to active when the pc is shut down.

Restarted and the leds are in the off-state working, so i can check the status of the MB.

I also set the bios option: "power loading" from auto to enabled.

According to the bios: "Enables or Disables dummy load. When power supply is at low load, a self protction will activate causing to shutdown or fail. If this occurs, please set to enabled."

Maybe during boot the MB gets a very low load so it fails to boot.

Now the pc boots again a few times. Fingers crossed.

When i put the pc back in the tv-cabinet below the tv i will use a different hdmi-cable to connect the pc to tv (sony KDL-43W756C).

You didn't try booting it outside the case earlier?

It almost sounds like you are shorting the motherboard to ground in the case.

What case do you have?

You are using standoffs to mount the motherboard in the case right?

Next steps are to unplug all the case headers including the power button.

Im not familiar with your motherboard so if it doesnt have a power button built in you will have to short the power button pins to get it to boot...

When you first got the motherboard replaced what did they tell you was the problem and how did they diagnose it? Was it with your components?

Yes i did a Q-flash+ ouside the case 2 times. System booted and then put it inside the case. System booted...a few times. Then nothing worked. Got the pc to a repair shop. They could'nt get it to work. I then tried to use Q-flash+ outside the case and got the system working again. Put the stuff back inside and no boot but after touching the gpu-riser-cable it booted fine, got a windows boot error message which repaired itself after restarting and for now my pc works again.

Indeed i'm starting to think it has something to do with the case/gpu riser cable.

After returning my first MB they (alternate netherlands) sent me a new one straight away (very nice).

I have a Raijintek Ophion (non evo) with a gigabyte aorus pro ax b550i.

MB is correctly screwed to the standoffs (the same as my old MB). Although 1 screw is missing (near the back of the case) because the case has a thickness at the rear io opening which prevents the i/o shield to fit nicely. That means there's a few mm distance between standoff and MB.

[pictures is from a user who painted it white and took it apart].

At the moment my pc is working normally again (at the moment).

The things a changed in bios (F12):

- MB leds are now always active

- PCI riser changed to gen3 instead of auto

- Enabled PSU dummy load

Also changed a hdmi cable.

Its still posible the cpu is not working optimally because once i removed the cpu cooler the cpu was attached to it and some pins were bent slightly. Got it straight again (with a credit card) and it functions but cant go into a lower frequency (wont go below 3.8 ghz)

I think i found the problem.

This morning i started the pc and it wouldnt want to boot. Leds on MB were active, fans spinning also on the psu. Then i touched/wriggled the gpu riser cable and the pc booted!!!

For the second time after touching the riser cable pc booted....

So that means a need to get a new riser cable or just to wriggle it a bit to get my pc to boot....

I have found a similar issue, but I found that when I went to start my PC up in the morning the HDD led would be slightly lit.

So far I have traced it down to the GPU as you have found, but I also find that if I just unplug the Display port cable ever so slightly the LED goes out and I can then boot without it doing what your machine does.
