Sorry to hear about the IV lines Mauricio, they aren't fun. I've only ever had one at a time.
So... DNS. I'm going to look at Adguard to replace PiHole as it seems more fully featured, and can do DCHP.
PiHole can do DHCP too. I personally have looked at both and like PiHole only because it is run by a non-profit but Adguard, as you know, is a company so there is that automatically against it. There were other reasons too with why I am sticking with PiHole but will likely fire up an Adguard instance to try it again as it has been a number of years.
Super simple if you wish to get PiHole talking over DNS over HTTPS: https://docs.pi-hole.net/guides/dns/cloudflared/

I don't really care about secured DNS that much. Obviously within the LAN it's irrelevant, and I use the 2degrees ISP DNS servers. Spoofing is theoretically possible, but highly improbable.
I like non profit / open source, but sometimes commercially maintained has advantages.
It seems a lot has happened on this thread since a posted this morning. Hospitals, swearing, bannings.....seems it's all on! Hope you feel better soon Mauricio!
Since make my changes (blocking public DNS) I've seen a doubling in DNS traffic through Pi Hole - so far on track for over 200,000 queries / day but then I do have rather a lot of clients....needless to say the free tier of NextDNS isn't going to be a starter for me....

I don't subscribe to Geekzone because I think it is a little steep for just no ads for the times I visit - the offer of free storage etc doesn't really appeal. I pay $15 per month to Stuff to which more than covers the ad revenue they're losing from me....but then I'm there a lot...so it's not that I don't want to pay for anything. Sites and services cost money so chipping in here and there is the ethical thing to do, especially if your blocking the bejesus out of everything. I don't know what it costs to run GZ, I expect a lot if you're in hospital selling a kidney for us, but it would be interesting to know how much revenue comes from ad exposures for a single user who comes to the site (on average) for say an hour per week....if that works out at $10 per annum then that might be a nice subscription model - no services, you'd still get ads (if not blocking), but you could get a badge/label saying 'Midget Donor'. Might be more appealing, and less painful, than a higher rate? And might hook people who care to share but not enough for the gold service?

@Bewildered Not a bad idea but IMHO if a user blocks ads then so be it. In the thread I linked earlier (https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=4&topicid=268494) there are other methods to support Geekzone including one-off donations but it does cost real money to run a platform like this and if you'd like to take a punt at how much it costs then you can message Mauricio with your guess. The thing is, we legitimately care about the site and the community and all we ask is people are not dicks and abide by the FUG in return - it is totally up to you if you'd like to support Geekzone and we do totally understand the subscription model is not for everyone and not everyone likes ads. I personally want Geekzone to stick around however. If you wish to make some suggestions then I encourage you to post in that thread as I am sure Mauricio will be all ears.
But back on topic what I do is block all outbound DNS so clients are forced to go through my DNS servers of choice and I've found that works incredibly well with the exception of one device which has to be whitelisted as it refuses to talk to anything except Google DNS. I otherwise get 150,000 queries average over 24hrs on my main LAN or around 800,000 (yes, you heard that correct) queries across all my VLAN's. I do have quite a large network.
