I use firefox due to Yoono the version for Chrome is nowhere as good. I just got use to it.

I have chrome when Firefox has hung etc I change to chrome for browsing never seems to crash

Remeber I am a consumer not a tec head so I take the arrogant approach of "why does it just not work?" I forget that it is free and a incredibly sophisticated piece of gear.

Aha, wouldn't be surprised if addon's people add to Chrome or Firefox are the most common causes of crashes.

While I generally like Chrome there's one thing I simply can't stand: saving images. I think Chrome is the only browser that uses its download feature for saving images. I right-click an image, click "Save image as..." and for some reason Chrome adds the image to its download list. Every other browser I've ever used simple saves the image and that's it, but with Chrome it gets added to the download list and then I have to click "Show all downloads" and then "Clear all" to remove it otherwise it'll stay there forever.

Turns out I was wrong, the latest version of Opera 20 also insists on adding any images you want to save to it's download list. Argh!

erm you do realise Opera is now just a skinned version of chrome right (ie Chromium)

I found Firefox had a memory leak that appeared to be mostly caused by Acrobat plugin, after a couple of days would just lock up even after restarting the browser. IE wasn't much better, but some improvement after switching the PDF plugin to Sumatra PDF. Eventually installed Opera, all problems solved and generally compatible with most sites. New problems include not being recognised by some websites despite being compatible, or not recognising dodgy code on very occasional sites with multimedia content. Still, so much easier to load firefox when its only for one website.

Time to find a new industry!

Yeah I know Opera now uses the Blink engine but I thought that was just for page rendering, I didn't think it extended to handling downloads too.

But I'm beginning to like Opera 20, I like it better than Chrome.

You could try lynx browser at http://lynx.isc.org . Wont crash for flash, java or pdfs. Just downloaded and installed on windows 8 :-P.

There just aren't enough testers using the new interface to justify shipping a completed version, the developer says. It's concerned that the missing feedback could lead to a buggy release that requires too much repair work. Pre-release code will still be available, and Mozilla isn't ruling out a change of heart in the future. For now, though, Windows 8 users will have to switch to a rival like Chrome if they want a touch-friendly alternative to Internet Explorer.
