Get rid of the TP Link archer wifi, that motherboard has WIFI built in. Also please dont use wifi if anyone is gaming. its a poor experience.

One thing i cant see from a quick glance is how many fans the motherboard supports. The case includes 2 and you are buying 3. So check on the manufacturers website and if you need to get a fan splitter.

e.g https://www.computerlounge.co.nz/shop/components/watercooling/accessories/ekwb-ek-cable-y-splitter-3-fan-pwm-black-10cm

Also monitor's

Prefer IPS if you can, otherwise there are some VA panels about the same price.

So
BenQ EX2780Q 27" QHD 5ms 144Hz IPS Gaming Monitor
Is a good monitor? I get the Hz thing but not the "P". I see where I can choose IPS or VA so I can do that.

1080P vs 1440P is the resolution.
Think of TV, there is Full HD (1080P) and 4k(2160P). 1440P is basically 2k(TV's didnt adopt this resolution).

Graphics cards in the current generation which your purchasing will perform well with a 1440P display. So get that.

at the 4k resolution it will struggle, at 1080P it will be overkill. Its important to match things up especially with the $ being spent.

Hope this clears it up for you.

I get it. The graphics card could be better. So if I have $1,700 for a graphics card and monitor what would be your suggestion. If you see anywhere else where I would be able to save and add to that $1700 let me know.

I'd stay away from VA panels.  They have better contrast than IPS and can look better in a static image, but with moving images they all have some degree of black/dark level smearing and it can look quite bad in some situations.  Look at Rtings.com or the Hardware Unboxed youtube channel - they both have very good monitor reviews, look up the monitor you are planning on buying.

Monitors, Cases, Power Supplies - it pays to spend a bit more on these components, often they can last many years and upgrade cycles.

I have a 360A case. Good case. You really don't need to add 3 more fans to it, just one exhaust fan.  Anything else is probably just for RGB 'show' - waste of money IMO.

If you want to save some money you could downgrade the CPU e.g. to an I5 12600K (or even 12400F) --- it is probably overkill for a gaming system, and you could argue the money could be much better spent on upgrading the GPU e.g. to a 3070 to fully take advantage of a high refresh rate monitor...

OK so after talking to a friend we are able to borrow a monitor for a few months so we will be able to spend the $1700 on the graphics card 😁 and save up for the monitor later on the year. So with this new information looking for some guidance please.

Twalknz72:  So with this new information looking for some guidance please.

go and buy a prebuilt

yes seriously, you posts make it clear you don't have a huge amount of knowledge of things so go see someone like playtech, Computer lounger or one of the other boutique PC shops and get an off the shelf built one or have one modified to suit.

Ok have decided on a prebuild and I hope this ss uploads ok. I'm ordering from computer lounge, benchmark AMD stage 2. We have $500-600 we can spend on the monitor. Would love y'all's picks please. Thanks again for your help.

Personally I think if you are looking at a 3080 you are looking at spending far too little on a monitor.  500-600 buys you a low-medium range 27" 1440p monitor which a 3080 is overkill for.

I think you'd be much better dropping to a 3070 or 3060Ti (and dropping to 16gb RAM - 32mb is overkill for a gaming system, and anyway is very easy to upgrade in the future if you feel the need) and spending more on a monitor. The monitor is what you spend all the time looking at, and it will likely well outlast the system, don't skimp on it.

So what would you be looking at if you wanted to keep your monitor under a 30" and under $1k? Would that be better?

Something like this monitor wise https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/MONLGL32786/LG-UltraGear-27GP850-B-27-QHD-165Hz-Gaming-Monitor

<30" is too small for 4k.

1440p is sweet spot at 27".

I also assume you know you're buying 2 year old tech, but still paying MSRP for it in general? The new stuff is now only weeks away from launch (AM5 is due 15 September).
This isn't the but you'll always be waiting for the next thing. Given the

Given you posted 2 months ago asking for advice, all the leaks on AM5 are now pointing to waiting "just 5 more weeks wait"

yes but the problem is your a beta tester for the first 3-6 months on a new platform while they iron out issues.

Its also only launching with DDR5 so it all adds to the price.

be prepared for bios updates, instability etc.

Yes I know I've been looking for the past 2 months. I'm very careful spending this kind of money and don't want to misstep as I've already done that to the tune if $1,500 ish.

So y'all recon the prices are going to drop within the next month with the new release?

OK just was getting ready to order

With the

Monitor but was reviewing y'alls posts and came across the motion of playtech and, before completing the order, thought I'd just have a quick look. I saw this

So my last question is better then I promise to stop bugging y'all about this.

Thank you again for your help and support. I hope y'all understand this is a lot of money and I do want to get it right.
