Aren't the 1070 prices way to high?

$379USD = $622NZD after adding GST .

I think many people will be shipping from amazon as a nearly $300 price differential is worth forgoing the protections of the CGA... you are covered anyway with the standard 1yr warranty, you just have to ship it back.

I thought the partner cards were cheaper than the founders edition?

Why wouldn't you just use Youshop or similar?

Even without the shipping costs, the card itself is still $861, which makes the $899 prices from places like PBTech seem reasonable.

For $861 NZD you might as well just buy one from a store here to save the hassle. They are $899.

Play tech had stock of some gigabyte ones with aftermarket fans yesterday but I don't know if they have any left, check their website or call them up. There are stock shortages at the moment.

$379 USD is the suggested retail price by Nvidia but board partners are pricing them around  400-440 USD.

Here's a link to Newegg but it's currently out of stock:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125871&cm_re=gigabyte_gtx_1070-_-14-125-871-_-Product

Probably lesser known brands like Inno3D or Palit may be around 379 USD, but the tier 1 board partners like Asus, EVGA or Gigabyte may be slightly more expensive.

I would expect a price drop maybe in a few months or so when there's no stock shortage and when AMD releases the RX 480

Well I got a fantastic deal from someone who had stock and mine arrived ten minutes ago. Dinner, kids to bed and away I go.

What's a good free benchmarking tool I can run on my system before and after :) ?
