This week, everyday I have a Windows Live Update icon sitting in my notifications task bar. Up until today I have clicked it, allowed the update to install and be presented with a screen saying the update was successful. Yet I still keep getting the icon, telling me updates are available.

Surely they are not new updates one after another, so I gather when I do "try" to install the update it won't work. I'm running Windows 7 Home 64-edition. My current version of Windows Live Messenger is 15.4.3555.308

Should I just uninstall all of Live Essentials, and reinstall? Will that retain my current settings/logs for Windows Live Messenger?

Did you get this issue resolved? If not it could be that there are hidden ones.

With Windows 7 go to Start - All Programs - Windows Update.

This will bring up it's own control panel-like page and show you if you've any hidden updates..
