Hi  ...
I'm going to be selling my desktop PC soon as I'm getting a laptop... does anyone know what I could realistically expect to get for this?  The specs are below.  It's a custom built PC, not a crappy prebuild from the local department store or anything.  Black and silver monitor, black box with blue translucent fans, 17inch monitor etc...

I wouldnt pay more than $800 for that. Its pretty old.

I had a AMD Athlon 2100XP+ system on Trademe for a while and didn't even reach the $400 reserve. Instead of selling it I ended up installing my Exchange Server on the box and it's happily going along. I will use it until dies.

Of course it might not be an alternative for you, but just to give an idea of market. And you might be lucky and find someone on Trademe wanting a good system for home use - which this one seems to be perfect fit for.

I think $1 reserve trademe would see that hit $300 - $500.

yeah i feared as much   Frown  hoping with the couple of novelty things such as the blue fans, etc it might get more.  It was worth an RRP of about $3500 when I got it 2 years ago.

cosmetic extras are pretty much worth $0 secondhand.
All you can go on really is CPU graphics-memory RAM HDD DVDWriter people dont care about other things.

Price up a brand new 2.8GHZ 512mb 120GB box on TM and you will seee what i mean.
