Hello. Smile

I have a system running on XP. Inside this system I have 2 hard drives (1
that came with everything else, and 1 that I bought a while ago).

I'm not sure why, but the hard drive I bought a while ago (which is supposed
to be 80GB capacity) is reading as 1.99GB. So, it's basically ignoring
78.1GB of unused disk space.

Is there something I can do in XP so I can fix this problem? It seems a
waste to have a backup drive, when I don't have much space to back things up
on.

Thanks!

Perhaps it needs changes in its partition table? Check it: Start Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Computer Management.

Check under Storage, Disk Management that your drives are there and correctly configured.

If you are already using the drive you can't change the partition without everything being deleted. In this case you will need a third party program to do this, such as Acronis Director Suite. If you don't mind losing the drive's contents then you can delete the partitions and create a single new one.

Make sure you don't delete the partition on your boot drive or system drive!

Thank you!  It seems to be reading properly now. Laughing  I posted the same message last night on the Microsoft site (of all places), and got a completely different thing that didn't help.  Funny that!
