Todays Gold Box Offer at Amazon, 75% off Sandisk SSDs

If anyone decides they want some, I would consider splitting freight.

How does one do that, do you mean you'll buy for me and I pay you price plus part freight, or what?

You would need to be careful though that the combined total does go over the amount that would incur GST, which includes the shipping price. Looks to be a good deal though, and thanks for posting the link.

How much is shipping on one of these? The site seems a pain for finding info for international orders.

Edit: Also do you have to pay any custom duty for a $100US item? I'm not too familiar with importing.

I think it is around 300-400 NZ for GST and custom duties, but it would pay to check the customs website. You wouldn't want to be just over the limit.

$400 is the limit I have heard\read from multiple sources before goods bought on the internet incur GST. I've bought a few goods from Amazon below that and never been charged GST. In fact IIRC if you add something on Amazon over that amount, GST is automatically added to your cart total, so very clear.

They'll ship books but they won't ship most electronics. There is a section of the site where you can see what electronic products they'll ship overseas.

Yah I was kinda thinking if someone already had a US Shipping Forwarder and was going to use them to bring one or two in, I would piggy back on and contribute to the cost of shipping.

Well that sucks, it seemed like it was a pretty good deal, much cheaper than NZ prices.

That does suck; I'm sure when the Crucial M4s were last on sale they would ship them here... but now no dice.

You can get them for about 220 NZ in NZ, so the deal isn't 75% cheaper. So once you convert US dollars to NZ, and add freight and delays, it possibly isn't worth it if you just want one. I was reading some reviews about them, and some people have had problems with that brand. I think I will get an intel one instead.

Yes they inflated the prices to make it look like you are getting a good deal, I did realise that. It was more like a 30% saving from their normal prices. Still when you convert it to NZ dollars its around $140, which is still a nice saving. I just don't really want to spend over $200 for 128GB of space.

Plus freight, which lasttime I was quoted freight on amazon, it was like $60 for an item of about that size. Although freioght seems to vary depending what you order, as i thoink frieght on a kindle is a lot less. The benefit of buying in NZ is that you do have a warranty and the CGA if purchased for personal use.

It says that the shipping weight is only 4 ounces. So I thought shipping would be $5 for standard shipping. Rates are shown here http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html/ref=hp_nodeid_596188_stdintl?nodeId=596188&#StandardInternationalShipping
