Hi,

Looks like previous post on Synctoy closed back about 2010.

Looks like Microsoft Synctoy 2.1 has not been upgraded since 2009.

I have had Synctoy 2.1 in Win 7 HP 64bit  freezing on my NAS Dlink DNS 320 using Echo (equivalent to Mirror option).

Have updated my DLink DNS 320 firmware recently with no Synctoy improvement.

Have not found a solution to fix this freezing.

Synctoy works fine on a couple of Sata drives for the same source folders (220GB and 400k files).

I have started using FreeFileSync which seems to work ok on the Sata drives and the NAS drive.

Anyone had similar experience with Syntoy 2.1 or found any other solutions?

Cheers

Had the issue start a while back, found tonnes of links of people having the same issue.  Ended up swapping to another tool

I use karens replicator which works well, but may not do what you are wanting it for. But that too hasn't been updated for quite a few years.

I have used SyncToy for years, with my Windows Home Server and now with my Synology NAS with no problems. My Documents folder has over 45,000 files (mainly because it has source control for some web sites and games status) and total over 60GB, never had a problem.

Thanks Freitasm.

There has been lots of similar discussion on the web with similar problems that I have with freezing on a NAS.

Have tried various suggestions without any fix. So have ended up using FreeFileSync.

This problem has recurred with a new install of Win 7 HP 64.....
Maybe it is something to do with the Linux operating system on my NAS....

So I don't know what the solution is.
Obviously the guys at Microsoft has not identified the problem or found a solution.

Cheers
