I am hoping for suggestions for a software solution to enable timed (staggered) playback of media clips across multiple pc's.

Needs to be able to play a different clip on each of say 20 pc's with each one starting at a different point in time.

Suggestions?

VLC has various remote options which will allow you to script the desired actions.

Not a solution but definitely the central component of a good solution.

The VLC forums are very friendly if you have done some investigation beforehand.

You could use MPC-HC and its web interface.
