Hi all I decided to use USB to my DSL but don't know how to get Mirc or my FTP prog to pick up the connection?
I decided on USB because I am networked to my xbox..lol Plus funny thing I noticed my speed has increased?..lol

Does the USB connection show up as a (pseudo) network interface in Network Connections? If not, USB is essentially a very fast serial connection, so you could use the built-in HyperTerminal emulator in Windows, or something similar.

However, you shouldn't have to do anything as such if you can access the Internet. FTP and mIRC should just work.

Is the DSL device a Dlink 502T or 302G? Or one of the Dynalink USB/Ethernet DSL modems?

It should be a case of installing the USB drivers off the disk, restarting, and then plugging the USB cable into the modem/computer.
