Righto - I have worked out a shopping list that seems to tick all the boxes. Can someone please check it over and offer their advise if everything is compatable or I have made some bad choices?
Got a revised budget again but thats it!

Cheers

Looks ok to me. I'd probably go for a WD Black or Seagate Baracuda instead of the slower WD Green.

My 2 cents...

If you can afford it I would recommend bumping up your SSD to 120 gigs. Should only cost about $20 more and you wont regret having that extra bit of space, especially if you decide you ever want to run some virtual machines.

Also would think about changing drive to a WD Blue. Again a tad more $$$ but I believe that the green drives only spin at 5400 whereas blue are 7200 rpm. Power saving is probably small between the two but you would notice the speed difference.

60GB is fine for OS and apps, but not much data. I have 60GB for OS/apps and 120GB for image caches, web browser caches, email (so my disk doesn't have to spin up all the time), that sort of thing. 120GB for that is too large for most people, I work with a lot of large photos. 120GB is plenty for most people for OS, programs, and some data.

Remember to back up the SSD to a spinning disk, and the spinning disk to offsite somewhere.
