Over the break, I was asked what is the best AV to use by a school with approx 20 computers.

As I wasn't too sure what to reply, I figured I would ask you all and get back to them

For a school or organisation with this many computers, I am guessing they won't be able to use MSE free edition or other such free AV's; correct? So what can they use?

They can use MSE or windows defender (if you are using windows 8) as long as the school uses legitimate copy of windows. My advise, just get MSE.

Are you sure about that, MSE has some particular licensing restrictions around education and small business.

Restrictions. The software may not be used on devices owned by government or academic institutions.

A school is defined as an academic institution

Why not use the MOE provided software - you do not say it is not an MOE school etc

Eset nod32 seems to go quite well at a few schools i look after, with AVG on the exchange server.

MSE cannot be used in businesses or schools with more than 10 seats as i understand - so we install it on the laptops that teachers personally own.
