I've gne through the 3rd video card in my media center... bearings in fan keep crapping themselves.

Running Vista Ultimate RTM... don't play any games. Mixture of MPEG 2 from TV Tuner and Div-X, X-Vid. No games at all. Just a lounge PC.

What video card shall I buy?... and where from?

Thinking an X1300 at the moment...

If no games, you could probably get a card with passive cooling, assuming your media centre case has sufficient cooling (like a quiet fan removing the heat from inside the case). I've had good results with Nvidia 7300GS cards - they don't run that hot either.
