every time I turn on the computer writh in 2-3 minutes the pesky 'Java Update' box appears telling me that there is a java update available
I have been into the java menu in control panel and selected to have only monthly updates, but it still comes up every time I turn the computer on

Is there any other way to control the java updates or get rid of them??

It is very annoying!

thanks

Yeah, you upgrade Java. Those are security updates, if you're using java web applets (or even allowing them) you need to update.

If you don't use any java applications you can just completely uninstall java.
