I guess I'm really trying to put it off but I think my monitor is actually dead.
Sometimes if I have a task running on the computer overnight I'll turn off the monitor (LGW2242T from 2009)
... because sometimes I can't sleep so get up to read for a while, better done without the pull of a live computer.
Anyway, Sunday morning I hit the orange-lit power button to turn on the monitor, the monitor flickered momentarily as it usually does on start up, then went blank, and the power button was blank too - usually blue when on.
I switched power cables (kettle cord - no difference), I plugged in the tv as an output (it still works - so not graphics in computer)
There had been no FLASH, no BANG, no <SMELL OF HOT FRIED ELECTRONICS>
Is my diagnosis correct, do you think?
Oh, it's an internal power thingy - just uses a standard kettle cord, no power block.
