Hi,
I have a i3 dual core based PC which is used for a mix of light gaming (my sons minecraft, simcity 5 etc) and other normal household use, not much intenese stuff.
We are constantly having display driver crashes, sometimes the system will go for a few weeks without issues, othertimes, crashes consistently. It normally restarts itself ok, sometimes the mouse dissapears etc. It has basically done this since getting the computer (maybe 2 years ago).
I did a complete reinstall of the OS (win7 64bit) a while ago, but this did not fix the issue.
I don't know what wattage the PSU is, I think it was 400. PC Specs as follows -
CPU i3 Dual Core 2100
Asus P8Z68-v LX
Ram 4gb (not sure if 1 or 2 sticks?)
Win7 64 premium
Radeon 6850 1GB GDDR5
I have updated all the drivers as they have come up. No drivers updates make much of a difference.
Way I figure it, either my PSU is inadequate for the graphics card or the graphics card is just a dud.
If I go the way of changing the card, what is a fair replacement for it, 7700? or a Nvidia equivalent?
Any help would be appreciated
Cheers
Sen
