Hi All,

I'm not having a good run with Microsoft at the moment, don't get me started on windows 8 ill save that for another thread.

I purchased Office 2013 Home & Student for my Samsung Ativ convertable.

Purchased from Warehouse Stationary (WS) in Albany.
I live in Tauranga, got back home this week and started setting it up, upon scratching the product key card, I find only 24 digits. Product key is supposed to have 25 and it wont it me download, let alone install. I guess a digit got scratched off...not sure how because my nails are so soft that i struggled to scratch anything off at all.

Taking it back to WS Albany isnt going to happen for a month or so until I get a chance to go back up to Auckland. So I phone Microsoft. customer service asks for a picture of the problem. Then tells me later via email, I have to take it back to the retailer.

Really brassed off, mainly at the quality....If you're going to make a scratchie thing then DONT make it so the important numbers scratch off easily.

Pay good $$$ for these things and keep getting poor results.
I will ask if the local WS will sort this out, but I'm not expecting much.

please get in touch with me at my Geekzone user name .mercer @ microsoft.com and I can email you a code for a 1 year Office 365 Home Premium code to tide you over until you get your H&S replaced

It needs to go back to the retailer as those cards are specific for each retailer

just take it back to warehouse stationary in Tauranga, doesnt have to be same store. you can do it with Harvey Norman so WS should be ok.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

Thanks for the offer Nathan. I'm going into warehouse stationary here this afternoon so will let you know how I get on, if I need to take you up on your offer or not.

UPDATE: The local Warehouse Stationary sorted this for me in the end. Still a bit of a drama, as you all know retailers here can be a bit hit & miss (even the best of them).
