CoaupExteNsion Extension on Chrome?

I suspect one of my family has recently installed something on our shared desktop without bothering to look at the various 'options' during the install.
As a result, I'm now seeing a 'CoaupExteNsion' extension being added to Chrome. I can delete it through Chrome, but it magically reappears after each reboot.
I see nothing unusual being initiated via msconfig, and can find no reference via Google. MalwareBytes picks up nothing.
Anyone come across this before?

You could have a look under;

"AppData\Local\Chromium\User Data\Default\Extensions"
(may be a slightly different dir)

You should be able to find the extension and delete it manually.

Although this is probably avoiding the main problem.

I would run HitmanPro and see what that detects.

Thanks for the reply.
HitmanPro certainly is good, but it didn't find anything either.
What I *did* have success with however was by enabling the 'developer Mode' under the extensions tab in Chrome, I could see the directory (a random dame under \programfiles) that the extension was being added from.
I removed that and have solved my problem.... now to try and get the culprit to confess! :-)

I'm guessing from the lack of detection 'CoaupExteNsion' is not classified as Malware.
Good to know. :)

May I suggest setting up user restrictions for the family.
May stop something like this from occurring in the future.
