Hey guys,
I've got a Canon 500D which I have connected to my laptop using the EOS utility. I can shoot to the computer great and its very fast over USB cable.

I need to take the file, as soon as its in the folder on my computer and move it to an FTP server (which can be added as a network drive on my computer). It needs to be as fast as possible in picking up the file so as soon as that file is there, it syncs it. Any recommendations.

This is for a Tech demo we will be doing at Xerocon on Thursday. If anyone will be there feel free to come and see a pretty amazing tech demo!

I would use the System.IO.FileSystemWatcher class to monitor the target folder from, say, a powershell script, and process the files from there.

Standard feature of some FTP clients, google will find them.

Inphinity: I would use the System.IO.FileSystemWatcher class to monitor the target folder from, say, a powershell script, and process the files from there.

This isn't a bad option but you also need to timer and to poll the folder for changes because sometimes FileWatcher mysteriously doesn't work.

syncback free edition from 2brightsparks could do it with the windows scheduler set to run every 1 minute.

Set up a source folder as any accessible folder, and the destination can be a folder on the ftp server.
