I have had to reinstall Windows 98 on my Gateway PC  Model Essential AS G6-500 SEC / BY KER.  When prompted to select an internal modem during installation, I just chose the first one with Gateway in the name from the list provided.  However, it doesn't work with the error message 'cannot find modem'.
Can anybody please provide advice?
