hey all,

first i am almost computer retarded...not completely, but almost...so bear with my stupidity.

my windows live messenger has recently begun freezing during video calls.  it happens when i change the video size from large to full screen.  if i hit ctrl+alt+delete twice it will go back to large and unfreeze.  i have uninstalled and re-installed to no success. i have the latest version and am running xp with services pack 2, all updated.

any ideas would be appreciated, thanks

I would first make sure your video drivers are all up-to-date. Also check that your camera has the latest drivers.

Are you using a beta, or a full release?

are you running any plug ins like Messenger Plus or the likes? might be something to look into. Also do make sure you have the latest driver updates not just from Windows Update but also from the vendors website. It does sound like a driver problem more than anything.

Have you tried a different usb port? latest video card and webcam drivers? Is it with all contacts? Do you have any other video or sound devices?
