Hi Everyone.

I am in the running for a New 22" monitor.
I am looking at the Samsung 226BW, Dell E228WFP or Viewsonic VX2235WM.

Samsung 226BW = $503 + Ship (C Panel) - http://tinyurl.com/3aqgqh
Dell VX2235WM = $499 incl Ship. - http://tinyurl.com/39ml3c
Viewsonic VX2235WM = $444 + Ship. - http://tinyurl.com/zgfuw

Which do you guys recommend?
I'm looking at buying soon.

Looking forward to your replys.

Thanks Smile

The URL you posted for DELL actually takes you to Samsung's 226BW site.

The Samsung is a much better monitor than the Viewsonic and the Dell (which are identical by the way), I currently have an LG L226WTQ, which is very similar to the Samsung. I would recommend either of those. We sell a large number of both, the Samsung probably being our most popular product at the moment, people just can't get enough of them.

Note: could you please put a line break between the images in your signature, they're currently side by side and causing my page to stretch rather wide.

According to behardware there are different versions of 226BW. Is that the case here NZ?

I have the LG and really like it. Mine functions mostly more as a 'TV' than PC.

Bradstewart - one annoyance I have found is that it seems to 'colour correct' itself.  When running in analogue mode, and the picture background is black, it'll drop the brightness right down.  Really annoying.  When it goes back to a normal picture, it bumps the brightness back by itself.  Any ideas how to fix this?

Sorry, don't mean to hijack the thread.  Innocent

I have the viewsonic screen and find it brilliant. I have never had any problems and beside by other 17" philps lcd there is no comparison between the two the viewsonic one being the better.

The only bad thing I would say baout it are the buttons are slightly hard to push and could do with being a little higher.

Have you installed the driver off the CD? I found that helped. Although I would advise to stay clear of the application that comes with it. It would turn my monitor off after 20mins and I couldn't get it to go back on without a restart.

Also I am running the monitor over DVI-I and haven't seen any auto correcting issues like that, it may be a 'feature' of analog

I have the ViewSonic (only had it for a couple of weeks though), and no complaints (on a linux box with on-board nvidia). But I'm not a gamer, nor a videophile, so my opinion may not be worth much if you are.

Hmm ok.  The analogue isn't actually plugged into a computer, rather a TV Box type thing.  I think it's a 'feature' too.

Thanks for all the reply's everyone. bradstewart, Do you sell the "C Panel" Samsung? All the different panels were worrying me and was unsure about the Samsung, thats all. IMO, The Viewsonic is good value for money so am looking at that but the Samsung may be a good improvement. I dont game, Just desktop work etc. Thanks again.
