Hiya.

Well, I'm trying to get a PC working.  It has a MSI *heavy sigh* MS-6380E ATX motherboard in it, with a AMIBIOS.
The BIOS has the following details on it:

686
AMIBIOS
(C) 1999
BG65
6250

I'm hearing the following:

Beep-Beep-pause-Beep

I can't see anything on screen as there's no output from the video card.

The MSI website is pretty bad ;)  So I haven't been able to get info from there.  Their website is a bit like driving through MT Vic Tunnel blindfolded :)

Some hints.. If I remove the video card I get 8 beeps.
If I remove the RAM I hear three long beeps... Beeeep.Beeeep. Beeeep <pause>  and then the beeps repeat... and go on and on :)

I suspect it may be the video card?  I haven't used this video card before. But I'm just trying to confirm that before I go spend any more money.

Would appreciate if anyone can assist with this question.

Thanks,
ZollyMonsta

Used google :P

My problem is, there seems no match for

Beep-Beep-pause-Beep.

:)

3 Beeps  Base 64K mem failure  Bad memory

But no mention of a pause...

You are probably right.

Get your hands on a different video card and try that.

Also get a can of compressed air and blast as much dust out as possible, see what happens afterwards.

Ok, found another AGP card.. pretty old I think but the MB supports AGP 1x.
Its looking more like that... oddly, if I have a monitor plugged into the video card I get no beeps.

Waa laa!

Thanks for ya support.  Video card problem.  I'm glad it wasn't something else (like a ruined MB!)

Will buy a new video card and all shall be well. :)

Cheers,
ZollyMonsta
